THE Unity Gospel Choir Limerick and local musicians will put on a benefit concert for the Roche family next week. On Christmas Eve the home of Suzanne Roche and her family was accidentally destroyed by fire leaving Suzanne and husband Ger and four children homeless, with nothing only the clothes they stood up in.
Gretta O’Shea of Unity Gospel Choir reported to Limerick Post this week, “Suzanne is an amazing woman who started The Indira Initiative, providing much needed school uniforms and books for families in crisis.”
Gretta informed us that Limerick business people and indeed the general public have already shown great generosity. They have “stepped up and are supplying building materials, floors, doors appliances and all sorts of things to help this family. Never was I more proud of my wonderful Limerick city and the people in it.”
On Thursday January 23 the choir with special guests Wiseguys, Dapper Duo and many more are holding a fundraising concert in The Parlour Bar on Thomas Street. Expect music on all floors for this glitzy fun packed night, with lots of great raffle prizes as well. Tickets are just €10 and are available from Deirdre on 085-1046623 or Rose on 086-3317190. Tickets are also available from Caterina O’Brien at O’Mahoney’s Booksellers on O’Connell Street
The Roche Family Fundraiser happens at The Parlour on Thomas Street featuring Unity Gospel Choir Limerick, Wiseguys, Dapper Duo, Greg Ryan, Michelle Grimes, The Diva’s and Jennifer Barron and more on Thursday January 23.
