A CYCLIST has died after he was involved in a road traffic accident on the outskirts of Limerick city.
The man in his 40s was involved in a collision with a car at the Kilmurray Road Roundabout in Castletroy on Wednesday January 8 last.
The accident occurred shortly after 2pm and was attended by Gardai and the emergency services where the cyclist was treated by Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) before being brought to University Hospital Limerick for further treatment.
However, the male died overnight as a result of his injuries
The driver was not injured in the collision.
Garda forensic collision detectives have investigated the area where the collision occurred and further investigations are ongoing.
