THIS year’s production of Aladdin drew to a close last weekend at the University Concert Hall and we captured some of the fun had during the show’s two week run in Limerick. Once again the team delighted audiences young and old as panto queen Twink returned to the city for her second year as Widow Twinkee. She even dedicated one song during the show to her return and her love of Limerick. Other team members returning from last year included Limerick’s own Leanne Moore as Jasmine, Richie Hayes as Wishee Washee and hilarious duo Myles Breen and Richard Lynch as the Emperor and Policeman. Limerick’s Kamal Ibrahim also made his acting debut this year and it has to be said the former Mr. World did a superb job in his first ever panto as lead character Aladdin. The whole cast were fantastic from the main characters to the brilliant dancers and there was something for everyone with this year’s production with plenty of jokes for the adults and children’s alike!
This year’s panto also boasted some spectacular sets as the cast brought the exotic Middle Eastern tale to life in a range of stunning costumes. There were also plenty of musical numbers that had the children and their parents on their feet at times and proved the perfect family entertainment over the holidays.
