FANCY a flutter on who will fill the shoes and CEO position vacated by Patricia Ryan in the City of Culture hot seat?

Well Paddy Power have started taking bets on who will be the next CEO following the sensational raft of resignations.

The bookie makes The Gathering director Jim Miley it’s 5/1 favourite followed by David McLoughlin of Wexford Opera and Rory Concannon of the Jameson Film Festival who are at 6/1 and 8/1 respectively.

Further down in the betting is one of Treaty county’s most famous sons Terry Wogan at 40/1 while Emma O’Driscoll is at an unlikely 100/1 with the Rubberbandits at an even more unlikely 500/1.

A spokesperson for Paddy Power said “Given the publicity surrounding the position of City of Culture CEO it’s bound to attract some high profile candidates and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the likes of the Rubberbandits throw their hat in the ring.”
