TRANSPORT Minister Leo Varadkar hosted a meeting to discuss the Adare bypass where all aspects of the project were discussed with the National Roads Authority, Limerick County Council, department officials and local Oireachtas members.
According to Limerick Fine Gael TD, Dan Neville, all parties to the discussions agreed that there was an element of urgency to go ahead with the project.
“However, the rejection of the proposal for a southern route by An Bord Pleanala in October 2012 created a barrier to progress. The organisations present are very anxious to find a solution to doing so and committed themselves to the project”, he said.
The Limerick West TD urged that the bypass be prioritised.
