A LIMERICK man who falsely imprisoning a woman during a burglary at an apartment in the city centre last year has been remanded in custody for sentencing in the new year.

Joseph Carrig (33), of O’Curry Street, held the woman against her will when he used a 12 inch stainless steel knife during the course of the aggravated burglary at Wellesley Court, Clancy Strand on December 30, 2012.

When arraigned before Judge Carroll Moran at Limerick Circuit Court this week, Carrig also admitted committing three other similar burglary offences at properties on O’Curry Street, at Canon Breen Park in Thomondgate and at Hibernian Villas in Thomondgate between December 15 and 30 last year.

The matter was adjourned until January 28.
