MUNSTER went top of Pool 6 in the Heineken Cup following a bonus point, 36-8, win over Perpignan at Thomond Park. First half tries from Dougall (5), Kilcoyne (25) and man of the match Keith Earls (34) saw Munster lead 22-0 at half time.
The second half, a more scrappy affair, saw Munster secure the much needed fourth try, a penalty try, in the 63rd minute. With James Coughlan adding a fifth try in the 78th minute, Munster were not worried as Michel crossed for Perpignan in the final moments for a consolation.
Munster face Perpignan again next weekend in Perpignan in the return leg of the back to back fixtures.
