A TWO week adjournment has been granted to facilitate the production of a book of evidence to a man charged with possessing a makeshift shotgun with the intention to kill or cause serious harm in Limerick city last June.
Gordon Ryan (19) of Greenhills, Rosbrien was charged after a 21 year-old man was shot in the face and shoulder at Hyde Road on June 23.
Gordon Ryan was subsequently arrested and charged with the possession of a firearm, ‘described as steel piping designed to function as a 12 gauge shotgun’ for an unlawful purpose.
At Limerick District Court this week, Sergeant Donal Cronin said that the book of evidence was not yet ready and sought a two week adjournment for service.
Judge Eugene O’Kelly refused an application by defence solicitor Sarah Ryan to have the case marked peremptory against the State and adjourned the matter until October 29 next via video link.
