Head Coach Peter Malone, pictured, has named his Munster A squad for the first round of the British and Irish Cup against Scottish side Stirling County this Saturday in Bandon RFC, ko 5pm.
The squad includes a host of leading names with the inclusion of thirteen senior players, four of which have played at Heineken Cup level, Billy Holland, Dave O’Callaghan, Sean Dougall and Andrew Conway.
The west Cork support base will be glad to see Dunmanway man Darren Sweetnam start on the wing in a dynamic back-line that includes Ronan O’Mahony who scored a hat-trick of tries against London Irish in the pre-season game.
Out-half Johnny Holland was ruled out during the week after picking up a groin injury and his place goes to his academy colleague Rory Scannell who makes his B&I Cup debut, while Gearoid Lyons, named in the replacements, is named in his first Munster A squad.

In hosting the event Bandon RFC are officially launching the addition of their new floodlights and the event is supported by the Economic Development Fund of Cork County Council. There will be a cash entry at the gate with free admission to MRSC members and Ten Year Ticketholders, on presentation of card. There is also a discounted rate available to Season Ticket Holders, on presentation of season ticket. Supporters are please advised to arrive early.
