GYPSY blues guitarist Olli Soikkeli is touring Ireland this week stopping off at The Crafty Fox on Denmark Street tonight.
Finnish born Olli Soikkeli started playing guitar at age of 12. Olli was introduced to the music of great Django Reinhardt and gypsy jazz has been Olli’s main focus ever since. Olli (22) has played in jazz clubs and festivals all around Finland with stars such as Bucky Pizzarelli, Andreas Öberg, Paulus Schäfer, Antti Sarpila and Limerick’s Andreas Varady. He recorded his second album ‘Kouvola Junction’ with Paulus Schäfer and Arnoud van den Berg in 2012.
