The former Ireland rugby star Alan Quinlan will speak about positive mental health, triggers and coping mechanisms at the Network Limerick event.

Alan Quinlan will offer advice on the positive changes people can make around diet and the benefit of exercise and nutrition.

A recent study by St. Patrick’s Mental Health Services found that four out of ten people believe that getting treatment for mental health is a sign of failure.

The survey also found that 60% of employers would not hire someone with a history of mental illness.

This shows the vast difference that still exists between how mental and physical health are viewed.

Businesswomen throughout the Mid West are welcome to attend and the cost is €15 for non-members while there is no charge for members.

Networking expert Ciana Campbell, who will facilitate networking at the event, began an eighteen year broadcasting career in RTÉ in 1980 before returning to Ennis, Co. Clare, where she now provides media and communications consultancy, training, facilitation and presentation services for a variety of organisations.

Speaking ahead of the Network Limerick event Ciana Campbell said; “Networking encourages business people to lose their personal inhibitions in the interests of promoting their businesses, to learn more about other businesses and, in turn, make invaluable business contacts. I have come across many people who may be hesitant about networking at first, but during the course of the networking exercise, see the true benefits.”

Businesswomen who attend Network Limerick’s event will also have the opportunity to promote their businesses individually through 30 second introductions.

To attend Network Limerick’s event in the Limerick Strand Hotel on Tuesday, 24th September, please RSVP to Alison O’Brien at alison.obrien. Please note that places are limited so early registration is recommended.
