IT was a beautiful sunny evening last Wednesday 4 when Limerick City and Limerick County Enterprise Boards hosted another popular ‘Women in Business Networking Event’ in the scenic surroundings of the Woodlands Hotel in Adare. The title of the networking event was ‘Women in Media – Invisible women, Visible Men’, giving members advice on how to get them and their business noticed. The guest speaker was broadcaster and award winning journalist Margaret E Ward who chatted with guests before and after.
The three hours, which included refreshments for the ladies, saw the straight talking New Yorker reveal all about her time as TV and radio commentator, from working as a presenter with Newstalk’s Breakfast Business and as a business expert with the Irish Times to her time as a Money editor for The Sunday Times. Not surprisingly she proved popular, using her trademark humour and personal experience as a business woman with her corporate communications company Clear Ink to help give guests an insight into how to make sure their business stands out from the rest. The next networking event will take place on Monday September 30 at Limerick Strand Hotel as part of Limerick Business Week 2013 which marks a 10th anniversary, and is also the 20th anniversary of Limerick Enterprise Board.
September 30 will feature entrepreneur and Dragon Den star Gavin Duffy and kickstart a week of seminars, workshops and business clinics. Events are free and prior booking is essential.
