LIMERICK City Council says that water supplies have been restored to most areas of the city after a large water main burst this morning.
The incident occurred at the Kilmallock Road Roundabout on the Childers Road at 5.30am.
Council engineers have since redistributed water from other parts of the city to affected customers. Repair work to the damaged large water main will continue throughout the day.

The Council said the burst water main resulted in some flooding at the Kilmallock Roundabout. No property was affected by this flooding incident. The floodwaters receded after the main supply was switched off. The affected section of road reopened to traffic at 8.30am and traffic is once again moving smoothly through the area.
