THE average house price in Limerick for the month of July was almost €170,000, the Property Price Register has revealed.
With 56 homes selling in the month, the highest prices were paid in Adare and on the North Cricular Road while two properties in Ballanaty and Abbeyfeale sold for considerably less than that at just €20,000 each.
The register showed that 56 homes in both city and county sold for the month of July in 2013, similar to last years figures but down 31 from July 2011.
More than a dozen homes were sold in the city last month while a total of 406 property transactions were recorded for the year to date.
In June, transactions for house and apartment purchases amounted to over €5.1M, while May recorded €7.9M and April had more than €5.5M spent through the register.
In February, the average house price in Limerick was just over €117,000 when just over 30 properties sold.
