ADARE Golf Club has announced a competition aimed at developing the best young golfers in Limerick and its surrounding regions, with the prizes on offer including junior membership and expert mentoring for the winners.
The competition takes place on Tuesday August 20 and the club is offering three young golfers the opportunity to win rolling Junior Membership at the prestigious course until they reach the age of 18 and they will also be individually mentored by club professionals Gary Howie and Mark Collin.
Gary Howie, Head Pro at Adare Golf Club, explained how big an opportunity this is for young golfers in the region, saying: “This is a wonderful chance for young local golfers to win a genuine game-changing opportunity. Firstly, the winning three golfers will become Junior Members at a world renowned golf course that has hosted two Irish Opens, two JP McManus Pro Ams and the Irish Seniors Open.
“Secondly, the Adare Golf Club team will help their development as young golfers with one on one mentoring with our team of elite golf professionals. The difference between being a good golfer and a great golfer is the amount of hard work and time you are willing to put into improving your game. The aim of this competition is to give three talented young local golfers the facilities, expertise and environment to allow them aim for that next level and hopefully represent Limerick on the national and international stage in the future.”
The competition takes place from 11am on Tuesday August 20 and is open to boys and girls aged between 13 and 17 with a maximum handicap of 18. Entry costs €20 and includes golf, dinner and a goody bag. It is a singles stableford format and there are limited tee times available.
