LIMERICK band Protobaby is busy in rehearsals and writing new material with new singer Aoife McLoughlin. Protobaby were Hot Press Play on the Day finalists last year and Aoife, of course, made numerous successful appearances on the recent ‘Voice of Ireland’ on RTÉ.
Guitarist Tony Monahan told Limerick Post, “We are so fortunate after losing a great frontman to have found such a talented front lady in Aoife. We only started working with Aoife a few weeks back and already we’ve written a bunch of songs and gel really well. Her indie influences definitely fit with the Protobaby sound as well as adding some exciting new elements. We’re really excited about the future and can’t wait for everyone to hear some new Protobaby music.”
A new Protobaby single and video is slated to be released in October. Aoife’s debut with Protobaby will be at the Geuzenpop festival in Holland this Thursday 1 followed by a main stage appearance at the Indiependence festival on Sunday August 4 in Mitchelstown, Cork with Bastille headlining.
