Thousands set for Pig’n’Porter festival

THE largest tag rugby event in the world will take place in Limerick this Saturday. The Pig’n’Porter festival is expected to attract in excess of 4,500 people to the Crescent RFC. Now in it 12th year, the event will see 130 teams battle it out for the title. Throughout the day, the iconic pig will be roasting on a spit ahead of the legendary Pig ‘n’ Porter BBQ and live music bands. Participants are encouraged to fancy dress with prizes given out for the best costumes. The event is set to be worth thousands of euro to local tourism and hospitality providers.
