LIMERICK people heading to the beach this summer can now check water quality at 135 identified bathing waters nationwide.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has re-launched Splash, the national bathing water information website.

The brand new site has an interactive, colour-coded map that allows people to check if their favourite swimming spot is green for good, yellow for sufficient or orange for poor water quality.

It also details areas that have a ‘poor’ status and those that are closed for the season as well as how to identify new bathing waters in Limerick that could be added to the list.
