A WORLD record attempt to gather as many Claires as possible in County Clare will take place this Sunday (June 23). Limerick’s Claires are being encouraged to travel to Ennis for the unique record attempt. The Clare Volunteer Centre is inviting people with the name Claire, Clair or Clare to beat the world record set by 1,096 Mohammeds in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in February 2005. The previous record for a same-name gathering was created by 375 “Marias” in Spain in 2003. The Clare world record attempt will take place in Ennis Cathedral from 1 to 3pm.
