RHEBOGUE climber Mark Quinn, who in 2011 became the youngest person born in the Republic to conquer Everest, departs for his latest expedition this week. The 29-year-old will travel to the Himalayas on a 50-day journey in which he will climb K4 and K5, the 11th and 13th highest mountains in the world. A goodbye party and fundraising party was held in Bentley’s bar last week-end. To date, Mark’s expedition has raised more than €1,200 for Headstrong, which supports young people’s mental health, and Medicins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), the world’s leading medical humanitarian organisation.
