The learners completed a diverse range of programmes from a healthy cooking and nutrition project to a drug and alcohol education programme, with two young people, Tyreke McNamara and Michael Leo, graduating from an iscoil online learning programme.

Catherine Kelly, director with LYS and Inspector Luke Conlon of An Garda Síochána, presented the awards and congratulated the young people for their outstanding achievements.

Ms. Kelly also paid tribute to the King’s Island GYDP staff and volunteers including Tommy Barrett, Aoife Mangan, Godfrey Rondozai and Mary Mulqueen who was on placement from LIT.

John McNamara of Evolve Life Skills presented certificates of achievements to the young people who completed the personal development and life skills programme.

“Your dedication and enthusiasm greatly impressed me, particularly last month as we climbed Croagh Patrick on one on the coldest and wettest days of the years,” Mr. McNamara said.
