LIMERICK schools are playing a prominent role in ‘National Walk to School Week’, which takes place from May 13 to 17. Limerick Green-Schools officer Ellen O’Sullivan said: “The idea behind the scheme is to encourage children to walk and this, in turn, creates a walking culture within the school. Not only will this cut down on harmful emissions it will help to combat childhood obesity and keep children fit and active. We encourage children to be supervised and wear hi-vis clothing.”
