A SOCIAL media workshop for PROs and other members of sports clubs in Limerick will be held in UL on Wednesday evening from 7pm to 9pm. It will be the first in a seminar series entitled ‘Social Media for Sports Clubs – Practical Workshop’.
The workshop has been organised by Limerick Sports Partnerships and takes place at the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance Building in the university.
Anyone interested in attending is asked to bring a laptop with them as the workshop is practical. There is a fee of €15 per person and limited availability, so people are advised to reserve a place at the earliest opportunity. Places can be reserved via email to Ciara at [email protected].
This workshop will provide a practical introduction to the main social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Audioboo, and how they can be put to good use by clubs.
Journalist and social media expert Liam Horan will be guest speaker on the night. He has worked as a Gaelic Games correspondent for a national newspaper and has been secretary of Ballinrobe GAA club in Mayo.
The workshop is open to club PROs, as well as club members with an interest in promoting the activities of their clubs to members and the general public.
