Limerick hurling club draws announced

THE LIMERICK senior and intermediate hurling championship draws were made this week with some compelling draws for fans to mull over between now and May.  The Senior hurling championship, which carries a new title sponsor for 2013 in the shape of Hyundai Limerick Motor Centre, will see four groups of four teams compete on a round robin basis. The first round of clashes are set for the week ending May 12.

The draw, performed at Limerick Motor Centre on the Ballysimon Road, as usual, threw up some mouth watering ties.
Senior champions in 2012, Kilmallock,  will face the 2012 intermediate champions Ballybrown in group four.
Na Piarsiagh will meet City rivals Patrickswell in Group 2, while in Group 3, Adare will face tough ties against Knockainey, Murroe/ Boher and Bruree.
The Nick Greene Sports ground sponsored County Intermediate hurling Championship took place in Claughaun GAA Ckub this week also.
Like the senior championship the first round championship games will take place week ending May 12.
Senior Championship Groups:
Group 1: Garryspillane, Croom, Ahane and South Liberties.
Group 2: Na Piarsaigh, Granagh/Ballingarry, Patrickswell and Doon.
Group 3: Adare, Murroe/Boher, Knockainey and Bruree
Group 4: Kilmallock, Hospital/Herbertstown, Effin and Ballybrown.

Intermediate Championship Groups:
Group 1: Monaleen, Pallasgreen, Knockaderry and Blackrock.
Group 2: Killeedy, Kildimo/Pallaskenry, Cappamore and Newcastle West.
Group 3: Dromin Athlacca, Caherline, St. Kieran’s and Bruff.
Group 4: Mungret, Ballybricken, Claughaun and Glenroe.
