Cobh Ramblers 3-2 Limerick FC

LIMERICK FC went down 3-2 in a pre-season friendly away to Cobh Ramblers at St Colman’s Park last night. Goals from trialist Axel Bossekota and Rory Gaffney weren’t enough to prevent defeat for Stuart Taylor’s men.

Congo-born striker Bossekota opened the scoring midway through the first half and Limerick went in at the break with a 1-0 lead against the First Division club.

However Cobh were level within three minutes of the restart through Davin O’Neill and on the hour they took the lead.

Limerick equalised 15 minutes from time with a goal from substitute Gaffney but in the game’s dying moments Cobh claimed victory, with Brian Fitzgerald finding the net.

The Super Blues have two games next weekend, travelling to Waterford United on Friday night before taking on Avondale United in the Munster Senior Cup on Sunday.

Limerick FC: Shane Cusack; Shaun Kelly, Brian O’Callaghan, Andrew Cowpar, Stephen Folan; Stephen McGann, Dave O’Leary, Derek O’Brien, Garbhan Coughlan; Barry Sheedy, Axel Bossekota.

Subs: Barry Ryan, Anthony O’Donnell, James McGrath, Rory Gaffney, Colin Daly, Shane Costelloe, Cian Collins.
