O’Grady named as captain of Limerick hurlers

THE Limerick Senior Hurling Management team has announced their panel and captain for the upcoming Allianz hurling leagues.  Donal O’Grady of Granagh/Ballingarry has been named as captain of the side for 2013. The former LIT student has been apart of the Limerick senior hurling panel since 2004. Kilmallock’s Paudie O’Brien will be the vice captain.

There are six new players on the panel for 2013. Na Piarsaigh’s Alan Dempsey, Cathal King and Adrian Breen are joined by Dromin-Athlacca’s David Reidy, Mungret’s Patrick Begley and Kilteely-Dromkeen’s Paudie Ahern.
Missing from the 2012 panel are Patrickswell’s Thomas and Seanie O’Brien, Dave Moloney (Blackrock), Niall Maher (Doon) and Mikey Ryan (Murroe-Boher).
The Limerick Intermediate hurling management team has also been announced. Former Ahane hurler Clem Smith will double job as selector with both the U21 and Intermediate panels.
Adare’s Vincent Foley Jnr will take over the reigns as top man from last year’s manager Natal O Grady who is the new manager of the Patrickswell senior side. Michael Fitzgerald from Mungret is the other remaining selector. The Limerick intermediates will take on Tipperary in the 1st Round of the Championship at Pairc na nGael on June 9.The Limerick Senior Hurling panel in full is named below:

Finally, Limerick GAA Referees intend to run a foundation course for new referees.
