LIMERICK footballers travel to O’Connor Park in Tullamore this Sunday 10 for round two of National football league, fresh from their round one 0-11 to 0-9 win over Leitrim last Sunday 3.
Having to make do without the services of Ger Collins and Ian Ryan through injury, Limerick managed to secure the valuable league points with sterling performances from Eoghan O’Connor 0-7 (0-5f), James O’Meara 0-2 and Stephen Lavin.
Maurice Horan’s men received another boost this week with the news that midfielder John Galvin received the all clear from his surgeons in Dublin, to return to light training in four weeks time, following his second cruciate ligament injury in two seasons.
In more football news, the Limerick Ladies Gaelic footballers got their National Football League Division 4 campaign off to a flying start last Sunday February 3 playing Carlow at home in Dr Cullen Park.
Limerick lead by 3-07 to 0-01 at half-time, eventually running out easy winners by 8-26 to Carlow 0-01.Next up for Limerick is a home game against Derry on Sunday February 10.
