Taylor strengthens ‘Super Blues’

-

LIMERICK FC manager Stuart Taylor continues to assemble his squad and backroom team as the kick-off to the 2013 Premier Division draws ever closer.
Malky Thomson has been named as the club’s new assistant manager, while former Ireland underage international Stephen Folan has moved to Limerick.

The Super Blues also secured the services of Shane Tracy and Jeffrey Judge for another season, with both men playing key roles in the promotion-winning campaign of 2012.
Thomson is from Scotland and has worked with a number of clubs in his native country, including Celtic, Aberdeen, Hibernian and Dundee United.
Folan (21) was released by Newcastle United last Summer, having joined the Magpies as a 16-year-old. The attacking midfielder has also represented Republic of Ireland at youth level.
Taylor was full of praise for his newly appointed assistant and he also spoke of his pleasure at keeping two of Limerick’s most prominent young talents at the club.
“I am delighted to get someone of Malky’s experience in. He will add so much to what we are trying to do here in Limerick FC and I am really looking forward to working with him.”
Taylor said of Tracy and Judge: “I have really been impressed by the attitude and work rate of both players right from the start of preseason. They both have great quality and will really add to the team. They are both local lads and that is an added bonus.”
Limerick FC will continue preparations for the new season with two friendly matches over the coming days.
First up is a fixture against Mervue United in Ennis this Sunday February at 2pm and then they travel to face Salthill Devon at 7:45pm on Thursday February 7.
