Gardaí target burglars

TWO men were arrested on Friday last as part of an operation to target burglary and car theft in the Limerick area. The two have been charged with various offences in the Ardnacrusha and Corbally areas last week and gardaí say the arrests are significant in the drive to prevent domestic burglaries in the Limerick area.

Mugged at knifepoint

A mugging at knifepoint was reported last Wednesday when a young man was confronted by two men at Castle Street at 7.50pm and demanded that he hand over his belongings. The two suspects escaped with a small amount of property. Two men in their early 20’s were arrested a short time later and a knife was recovered. One of them has been charged with robbery and is currently before the courts.

Wallet taken

Henry Street Gardai are investigating the theft of a wallet from a man as he walked home last Monday in the Castletroy area. Two men approached him as he walked through the Jewish Graveyard in Castletroy and took his wallet containing a small amount of cash as well as a prepaid phone, bank cards and other documents.

Heating oil theft

Gardaí from Patrickswell are investigating the theft of home heating oil from a house in Elm Park, Clarina between 11pm on Thursday January 24 and 4am on Friday morning last when a 2005 Dublin registered Toyota Avensis car with barrels was seen close to the house during the night.
