Limerick hurlers face Tipperary

-

THE LIMERICK hurlers will face Tipperary in Nenagh this Sunday 17 in the quarter final of the Waterford Crystal Cup. (Throw in at Mc Donagh Park is at 2pm)
Limerick defeated Mary Immaculate college last Saturday 19 afternoon, 3-15 to 0-13. The pre-season tournament has  not always been a happy hunting ground for Limerick, however John Allen’s side impressed in this win over the students.

The seriousness at which this season’s tournament is being taken was highlighted by the strength of the Limerick team. There were no new faces on show for Limerick, for which Niall Moran, Shane Dowling, Conor Allis and David Breen are all performing well.
Meanwhile, the Limerick footballers exited the McGrath Cup following a 3-17 to 1-11 loss to Kerry in Killarney.
Maurice Horan’s men could not contain the scoring power of Eamon Fitzmaurice;s charges.
The Kingdom raced into a commanding 2-07 to 0-06 half-time lead, before kicking on once more to secure the 12 point win.
Also in football the Limerick U/21 team continued their preparations for the Munster championship semi final on March 17 (Cork or Kerry) with a narrow loss to Mary I.
