UL Eagles play their part in Ireland victory

THERE was considerable UL Eagles involvement in the Ireland basketball team that defeated England last weekend.

Six people from the club were involved in the 83-80 victory at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham on Sunday.

Jason Killeen, Robert Taylor, Rob Lynch and Neil Campbell all played in the match, while the Irish team was coached by UL Eagles’ Mark Keenan and the Irish team manager was John King.

Killeen was Ireland’s joint second highest scorer with 16 points while Taylor scored six points and Lynch and Campbell two each.
