READER, here’s hoping you are not concertina’d into a deaf place by Arts page bringing you news of yet another festive concert in this issue Limerick Post. Consider it rather a policy of rounding up the options now so that you can plot a December calendar of attendance, flitting from venue to provider to take in their fabulous music, each night being unique.
Fresh from the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s concert on November 22, the ICO announces its ‘Christmas in Italy’ offering at UCH on Thursday December 13. We hear of “a baroque feast of orchestral and choral classics that has a distinct Italian flavour”.
Works by Handel, Vivaldi, Haydn and Corelli will be augmented by the excellent ICO Chorus collaborating for the first time with the Irish Youth choir. Jonathan Cohen will direct. Book for Thursday 13, 8pm at box office.
