A 42-year-old mother is to face trial at the Central Criminal Court for the alleged murder of her son on September 3 last.
Diane Ward, Harrison’s Place, Charleville, Cork, is accused of murdering her eight-year-old son Aaron at their home. Ms Ward, who appeared on video link at Limerick District Court, consented to having the book of evidence served by superintendent Pat McCarthy, to her solicitor, Paul Cagney, on her behalf.
Judge Eugene O’Kelly granted the accused woman legal aid and assigned her one senior and one junior counsel.
Ms Ward was remanded in continuing custody pending her trial at the Central Criminal Court
