One day festival features 22 acts

Conflux is a daylong music event happening at two venues in the city this Saturday November 17. 22 diverse acts, some local and some from Cork, Galway and Dublin will  gather in Limerick for this daylong event.

Limerick’s Áine O’Dwyer, a harpist who has worked with United Bible Studies, will kick off the event from 3pm. One of the event organisers, Katayoun Bahramian told Limerick Post that, “We (namely Damien Mullane from Iron Mountain/Seadog, Martin Garcia Mortell from Three Hour Ceasefire and Katayoun) wanted to organise this festival for years.

We all share a love of local music and Limerick and wanted to bring people here for gigs rather than traveling to Dublin, Galway or Cork.”
Aine O’Dwyer is one of the twenty-two acts playing, she will be joined by acoustic acts Cubs, Driftwood Manor and Tarracoir performing in the atmospheric downstairs room of Bourkes Bar. Later in the evening brings a sharp shift in musical gears as electronic, indie, psychedelic and metal acts take over the three floors of The Blind Pig. Across all 3 floors expect new cutting edge music from Tipperary’s Castero, Lemonada, Macronite Don Sims, Cork’s Phil Collins Project and psychedelic jazz combo Great Balloon Race. Magic Pockets, MynameisJohn, Rites, Seadog and Toby Kaar will keep things groovy upstairs in Dr. John’s. Conflux happens this Saturday November 17.
