LIMERICK Jazz Society rocks out with a scintillating duo booked for Thursday 22 next. The musicians are Kenny Werner and Ronan Guilfoyle, piano and bass players extraordinaire respectively. Check into Dolan’s Warehouse for a fast paced evening of sublime moving as this hot ticket is getting race reviews in music venues around the country.
Kenny Werner is one of the great pianists and composers working in contemporary jazz, we are told. He is a multi-award winning musician, bandleader, recording artist and author of a best seller, ‘Effortless Mastery’.
“Werner has played at the highest level for more than 30 years,” comments Limerick Jazz’s John Daly. “His spontaneity, playfulness and sheer brilliance has captivated audiences all over the world’.
Mr Ronan Guilfoyle needs little introduction to music buffs in this category. He has appeared on at least 40 recordings, has led 10 of these and has an international career as composer, player and educator.
Himself and Kenny Werner are friends this long, long time and so we can attend to electric energy as well as beautiful music when they step out under the lights at Dolan’s Warehouse venue, Thursday 22, 9.15pm.
