Head coach of UL, James Weldon was also happy with his sides’ result over Ulster Rockets: “I am really happy for the team after that game as that win is the 40th victory in a row that we have achieved! We were missing two big players but it didn’t stop the team going hard and coming out with the result we wanted. Everyone stepped up.”
The superleague team travels to the infamous Parochial Hall in Cork on November 18 to take on Brunell in their next Super League clash. The ‘Huskies’ next home game is on December 1 in University Arena at 5pm.
Meanwhile in the Men’s Superleague UL Eagles continued their winning ways after they claimed victory over Dublin Inter. In a tough, sluggish game of basketball where baskets were difficult to come by it was another vital win for the Eagles as they push forward. Final score, 66-38
Head coach of UL Eagles, Mark Keenan was happy to come away from the game with a win. “It wasn’t a pretty game… we really had to dig deep and stick with it. We had to grind that game out until the very end”.
Keenan admitted, “We didn’t play together in the first half, everyone seemed more concerned about individual performances than the team’s. In fairness to the guys though, we came together in the second half and really put in a team effort and played as a unit.” This weekend, UL Eagles face Killester away.
