Maths tuition for post-primary students

THE School of Mathematics Limerick provides after school tuition sessions in mathematics education for all secondary school students. The staff also offer end of semester revision courses for all third level students.

Head of school, Mark McGrath B.Sc M.Ed has seen the school go from strength to strength since opening its doors in 2009.

According to Mr McGrath, the results for Leaving Cert, Junior Cert and non-exam year students in 2012 were superb with the majority of students jumping on average two grades in their respective exams after attending the weekly tuition sessions.

The half day intensive revision courses for the Leaving and Junior Cert examinations also proved popular with students showing great progress after attending these sessions.

The success of the school is backed up by student and parent testimonials. For example, two Leaving cert students in 2012 were recommended by their secondary school to move down to foundation level mathematics after the Pre’s in February. They contacted Mark McGrath and both attained C’s at ordinary level in the actual Leaving Certificate, attributing their success to the tuition sessions provided by the School of Mathematics. There are many other success stories across the board from Foundation to Higher level.

Class sizes at The School of Mathematics are strictly limited to six students and classes are one hour twenty minutes in duration. The school is conveniently situated at Whitethorns, Castletroy which is just beside the Kilmurry roundabout on the Dublin Road.
