JANESBORO received a surprise visit from JP McManus last week when he called to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church to congratulate the local Tidy Towns committee and pupils of Our Lady Queen of Peace for their work for tidy towns and the Limerick Going for Gold Campaign. Janesboro Tidy Towns Committee chairperson Leslie Cunningham paid tribute to the support given by the McManus Foundation to community causes and expressed delight at Janesboro’s achievement in taking first place in the Limerick Going for Gold Campaign.
“We would encourage groups and individuals to participate in these initiatives. These campaigns help build and strengthen communities as well as making our environment look better. We would like to say a big thank you to JP McManus Foundation for their sponsorship of the Limerick Going for Gold Campaign.”
The aim of Limerick Going for Gold is to make Limerick City a cleaner and brighter place to live, work and visit, 2012 was the first year of the three year Limerick Going for Gold campaign run by Limerick City Council in association with the McManus Charitable Foundation and supported by Limerick County Council, Live 95FM, Limerick Post, Limerick Leader, Limerick Chronicle, the Parkway Shopping Centre, Limerick Communication Office, Southern Marketing Media and I Love Limerick.
