Improving Munster face Ospreys

-

MUNSTER demolished a poor Newport Gwent Dragons last weekend, 33-13, to go second in the RaboDirect Pro 12 table.  Rob Penney’s men crossed the white wash five times on Saturday night in what was an exciting new dawn for Munster Rugby.

Attacking rugby was to the fore, with Munster’s intent evident from the very first attack of the game, which resulted in a wonderful score for Ian Keatley.
This weekend Munster travel to the Liberty Stadium to take on the Ospreys. Munster lost heavily at the same venue last season, so scores are no doubt going to be settled in what is normally a fracious tie.
The Ospreys got off the mark with a first victory of the RaboDirect PRO12 season at Scarlets last weekend. The defending champions have lost their two games at Liberty Stadium so far this campaign but have never lost three successive home matches in the history of the tournament.
Munster’s only defeat so far this season was a narrow 19-20 at Ulster on 7 September. The Munstermen have won just one of their last four away games however. (23-18 at Edinburgh on September 1)
The Ospreys achieved a treble over Munster in the RaboDirect PRO12 last season, whilst Munster’s only win at Liberty Stadium since 2009 was 22-20 on 23 April 2011.
Munster are expected to have their Irish internationals available to them. Those players involved with Ireland spent Monday and Tuesday in pre Autumn internationals camp. As a result Munster’s preparations for this weekend’s game only began on Thursday morning.
Kick off at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday night is at 6.30pm.
