Youth Cycling Championships roll in to Limerick

Limerick Cycling Club is delighted to organise the National Youth Championships 2012. The event will take place this Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the riders will ride from Birdhill on the N7 to Herberts Pub in Ahane.

The start time for this event is at 9am. In the afternoon, there is a road race of 13km around Clonlara in Co. Clare. On Sunday, there will be a morning Criterlum at Annacotty. This is a 1km circuit. The race HQ for the weekend is the Daughters of Charity at St Vincent’s Lisnagry. For more information please check out www.limerickcc.com.
In other cycling news, Stephen Clancy of the Dan Morrissey Speedy Spokes squad has just been invited to race in America with Team Type One for the remainder of the season. Stephen who was diagnosed with type one diabetes on the 8th of March has been working through his condition with the same determination that led to the performances that won him Cycling Irelands domestic cyclist of the year last year and is seeing a return to form after a solid Suir Valley.
