SHANNON Musical Society will launch its 35th production ‘The Producers’ at the Shannon Knights Bar, Sky Court in Shannon at 8pm on Wednesday September 5. “This is a time for the long standing members to meet up again after the very successful production, ‘The Pajama Game’,” comments PRO Maria Kelly. “It is also a great opportunity for new members to become involved in the society and to meet existing members, get acquainted with the organising and running of the society”.
Oliver Hurley, an award winning director and choreographer from Tralee, returns as artistic director for this year’s show. Carmel Griffin is musical director.
‘The Producers’ is a musical adapted by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan from Brooks’ 1968 film of the same name. Rehearsals will begin on Tuesday September 18 at Shannon Musical Society’s rehearsal rooms.
