From Ballysheedy, 20 year old Deirdre Lawlor has the X-Factor and will feature on the hit show over the coming weeks. The show is watched by around 10 million viewers weekly and Deirdre told Limerick Post that her experience so far has been great, “people have been fantastic, it is just very exciting, you know”. A self-confessed “drama queen”, Deirdre comes from a very musical family and has performed all her life in shows, in the choir and for anyone who wants to hear her singing.
“I always knew I would do the X-Factor she reveals, “I had an audition last year and the year before but I never went because I wasn’t ready. This year I felt I was ready and it all went very well”.
Deirdre cannot reveal too much right now about how far she will get in the competition which has been in pre-production since April. She is absolutely delighted to have been picked out in the auditions which had over 40,000 applicants and only 140 made the televised auditions.
You can follow Deirdre’s progress on the X-Factor on on TV3 and ITV at 8pm on Saturdays and 6.45pm on Sundays.
