What could possibly beat a great game of golf? Getting rewarded for it!
golfmiles.com is a new online golfing community for golfers to purchase great value quality golf experiences from some of the top courses in Ireland. Established by two avid Limerick golfers, Gary Neville and David Hickey, golfmiles.com is the result of two years market research interviewing golf clubs and golfers of all levels to develop a website that enables golf clubs better market themselves to golfers and reward them for their custom.
With each purchase, golfers are credited with points or ‘miles’ which can be used to get free rewards from any of the clubs on the website. Effectively, you get 10% back on every purchase. It’s a simple win-win proposition.
“On golfmiles.com, a golf experience consists of a golf-related activity, like playing golf or having a golf lesson, combined with any other service a golf club or facility might provide, for example; food, accommodation or spa treatments,” explained golfmiles.com founder Gary Neville.
“So, whether you’re a keen golfer, a beginner getting to grips with the game, or a parent interested in a family day out at a golf club, the golf experiences presented to registered users will be tailored specifically to their personal golf profile”.
golfmiles.com were recently accepted to the Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) Hartnett Centre which has an Enterprise Ireland Acceleration Centre in Limerick for new businesses.
“We’re delighted to have on board Adare Manor in Co. Limerick, Dooks in Kerry, Glasson Golf Club in Athlone, Powerscourt in Co. Wicklow, K-Club in Kildare, Shannon Golf Club in Co. Clare, Cork’s Castlemartyr and Knightsbrook in Trim, Co. Meath,” he said. “We’re in the process of setting up some more clubs and we’re delighted to have so many more in the pipeline”.
For golf clubs, golfmiles.com provides an online marketplace to sell targeted golf experiences based on the profile of the customer and understanding the different types of golfers in the sector is key. Using data intelligence technology, golfmiles will provide customer data and anonymous local and national reports enabling clubs to:
• Market themselves to a specific customer type, for example, core golfers, lapsed golfers, or family-oriented golfers.
• Benchmark their performance against industry trends.
• Reward their most loyal customers.
Interested golfers can register today on www.golfmiles.com and be in with a chance of winning a free round of golf where there is up to €25,000 worth of green fees to be won.
