House contents at 11 Summerville Gardensfor auction

O’DONOVAN & Associates Auctioneers will host an unusual auction in the city at 11 Summerville Gardens, South Circular Road this Friday July 27. We are told that the 6.30pm sale will be a complete house clearance of No. 11’s goods on the instruction of the estate of the late Dr Johanna O’Sullivan. The evening auction will be conducted by auctioneers Pat and Patrick O’Donovan of Key House, Newcastlewest. Dr. O’Sullivan’s books include many as Gaeilge dating from 1800 to early 1900’s, many first editions of Kate O’Brien’s novels, Canon Sheehan’s works and a Racine dating from 1811.

There is a set of drawings of Limerick by Thomas Ryan RHA, many medical books and paraphernalia, table and six chairs, easy chairs, wall clock, mantle clock, pictures, fire irons, side board, china (Beleek, Aynsley, Limoges), a dumb waiter, trolley, two-seater couch, hall table, hall chair. Inevitably there are kitchen white goods for sale, garden furniture, beds, clocks, bedroom seats, a shoe press, candlesticks, tapestries, oil lamp, ship’s clock, gramophone and records.
