Trees in an urban context
URBAN Tree Projectโis a collaborative and participatory process between the residents of Castletroy View, local artists Deirdre A Power and Jacki Hehir and The Woodland League. As part of eva International 2012,โUrban Tree Projectโhas a line up of appropriate activity planned.
This will feature a tree-awareness day trip, a native tree planting workshop, the building of a seedbed for propagating saplings and a day trip to Broadford Arboretum. Power, Hehir and Jardine will discuss this collaborative project, investigating the value of trees in an urban context, at Limerick City Gallery of Art, Pery Square from 6m today, Thursday July 5; wine reception followed by talk at 6.30pm.

The Stony Thursday Book
YOU can send in submissions to The Stony Thursday Book if you are a local, national or international poet for its 37th issue, to be published as part of CUISLE, Limerick City International Poetry Festival which will take place in October 2012.
Jo Slade, artist, designer and poet, is this yearโs editor.
The Stony Thursday Book was founded by Limerick poets John Liddy and Jim Burke in 1975 and is one of the longest-running literary journals in Ireland.
Send no more than six poems and write your name and address on each page, sending an envelope marked The Stony Thursday Book by postal address to Arts Office, Limerick City Council, City Hall, Merchantโs Quay.
