ADELE King (Twink) and runner up of RTE’s ‘The Voice’, Richie Hayes will headline ‘Cinderella’ next Christmas at the concert hall in a pantomime cast with professional entertainers only. This co-production is between UCH and Robert C. Kelly, the man behind ‘Menopause the Musical’, the recent ‘Girls Night’ and last year’s ‘FAME – the Musical’. Kelly is one of the most successful live theatre producers in the country and this formal partnership with UCH is big news for the venue. Expect a spectacular to rival any on the West End.
Casting for Cinders and other parts is ongoing and other celebrity names are tipped to join the show – see www.uch.ie.
Twink’s grá for Limerick has been aired previously in Arts page interviews.
“I am delighted to be returning to pantomime, probably the most important form of live entertainment. For most people it is their first experience of theatre, one which we hope will keep them hooked for life,” commented the fiesty comedienne. “Limerick audiences have always been my most supportive as far back as my days in Maxi Dick and Twink, so the opportunity to bring the first fully professional pantomime to University Concert Hall is an absolute thrill for me”.
Richie Hayes shot to fame this year taking part in RTE’s ‘The Voice of Ireland’, where he made the final out of almost 2,000 acts and the 24 who got through to live elimination.
‘Cinderella’ will run at the concert hall from December 19 to January 6.
