Man arrested following aggravated burglary

GARDAI were this Wednesday questioning a man about a vicious aggravated burglary at the home of three elderly siblings.
The man was arrested at his home in Monard, Co Tipperary at 7am, in a planned garda operation.
He was been interviewed by detectives about the attack at the home of Willie Creed, (74) and his sisters, Nora, (72), Chrissie, (66), in Pallasgreen, last Thursday.

The three terrified siblings were tied up, threatened, and assaulted, by two men who had entered the house armed with knives a makeshift sword.
The alarm was raised when a brother of the three, Tommy Creed, called to the house shortly after midnight.
The three victims of the aggravated raid were tied up for two and a half hours before been freed by their brother.
The detained man is aged in his 20s and is understood to be from Pallasgreen, but living in Co Tipperary.
He was detained at Bruff garda station under Section 50 of the Offences Against the State Act.
Gardai can question him for up to seven days before they either release or charge him.
