Quiz nights and great live music at O’Connell’s
SITUATED on Little Ellen Street, O’Connells bar is getting into the 70’s and 80’s theme for the Decades Festival happening over the June Bank Holiday Weekend with a special Boogie Wonderland night on Sat June 2 and an Electric Dreams party with DJ JP Dillon on Sunday 3. This coming weekend the bar has two nights live music with The Two Paddies on Friday May 25 and Cosmic Funk on Saturday May 26. Ken O’Connell informed Limerick Post this week that the regular Monday Night Quiz Night which has proved to be a great success at the venue will continue every week.

O’Connell’s in Annacotty has a night of poker regularly on Wednesdays with a €20 buy in and all cash won.  Contact Valerie or Mark on 061-338893 for more info. Live music at the venue over the weekend brings JJ on Friday 25 and The Two Paddies on Saturday May 26.
Wuthering Heights
LOCATED only a mile from Corbally, Wuthering Heights pub in Kilmore has entertainment this weekend from Blaze featuring featuring Joe & Nuala Mulcahy playing from 7.30pm on Sunday May 27. For the bank holiday weekend Don O’Connor’s Celtic Fusion perform on Saturday June 2 and Country Flavour will keep the party swinging on Sunday afternoon. The management have informed Limerick Post that the venue is open 7 days and is available for parties and celebrations.
Jägermeister with Ham Sandwich
THE Jägermeister Freezer Sessions gigs are run in conjunction with Hot Press Magazine and tours nationwide this June. The Limerick show happens on Thursday June 14 with a strong line-up including Ham Sandwich, The Kanyu Tree, Tarantella Fall and Dead Red Light in Dolan’s. Footie fans will not miss out on the night as Ireland’s game against Spain in Euro 2012  will be shown in the venue on the big screen before the show. Tickets are free but need to be applied for by logging on to www.hotpress.com/thefreezersessions.
