New 2012/13 coaches for Old Crescent RFC

The management committee of Old Crescent RFC have this week announced that a new coaching team has been put in place for the coming 2012/2013 season. Gerry Casey has been appointed as Head Coach,  while joining him as assistant coach will be Joe Nix.

Gerry played senior rugby for Young Munster and UL Bohemian, He also coached Shannon U21’s To win the All Ireland League and was backs coach the last time they won the league at senior level. Last year Gerry coached Monivea to win the Connacht league and took them to the All Ireland Junior Final and he has also coached Ard Scoil Ris at Senior Schools level. Joe has been head coach to the U21 side for the last 5 years and helped Crescent reach the quarter final of the Fraser Mc Mullan AIL cup and final of the south west conference this Season.

PJ Mc Loughlin has been appointed as forwards coach. PJ has a wealth of experience and played for Crescent’s senior side for 10 Years and was part of our senior side who won Division 2 in 1995/1996 season. Chris Cullinan is the Chairman of Rugby and will oversee and work side by side with the new coaching team.
