Both sides have started their league campaigns well with both having two good wins. It should be a close contest but the men from the East have been going well and should be regarded as Dark Horses in this championship.

Last years beaten finalist Ahane, will be determined to make amends for a poor final performance when they were strongly outclassed. However, their league form has been poor while their counterparts have been in good form scoring freely. Seamus Hickey will be the key and if Murroe can stop Niall Moran they should take an unlikely victory.

Effin have been the surprise side in the league with a superb start to the season. However, Patrickswell tend to perform on the big occasion. Nicky and Tommy Quade will be crucial as always but it might not be enough.

Knockainey are a decent side but they will be in for a tough evening. Kilmallock’s under twenty one winning sides are beginning to mature and watch out for Jake Mulcahy beside brother Graeme in a very potent forward line.
